House in Yarraville

House in Yarraville was completed in 2023 and is located in the heart of Yarraville, Victoria. The Edwardian external features have been reinstated, while the interior has undergone a full refurbishment to suit contemporary family living. A new addition was made to allow for a larger footprint, accommodating a growing family. The new addition forms a central east-facing courtyard at the transition between the old and new sections, creating a clear and cohesive bridge between the social and private areas of the building design. The existing home was re-clad and painted to address the poor thermal efficiency of the 110-year-old building, while the addition features natural weathered timber cladding and metal cladding, both designed to require minimal maintenance over their lifespan.
