After a long stint as an MIQ facility, ibis Hamilton Tainui was in dire need of refurbishment. The new design captures the energetic and vibrant spirit of ibis hotels while reflecting our beautiful region and distinct cultural narrative.
As an MIQ facility, ibis Hamilton Tainui underwent a much-needed refurbishment, redesigned in a way that captures the energetic and vibrant spirit of ibis hotels while celebrating the beauty, culture, and unique character of the Waikato region.
Throughout the premises are incredible works of art by Waikato Tainui Head Carver, Renata Te Wiata, across a range of mediums, from striking stained timber to stunning window graphics which catch the light beautifully.
The rooms are simple, minimal, neutral and bright, creating a sense of calm for guests. Throughout the hotel our CMF choices were hard wearing while also maintaining softness and warmth.
Each floor has its own colour, simplifying wayfinding and bringing vibrancy to an otherwise standard hotel corridor. In the common areas a directional light strip guides guests through the premises in a surprising and unique way.
