A Classic Coastal Home Reimagined for Luxury Living

Set on the escarpment of Dalkeith, one of Perth’s most exclusive riverfront locations, this stunning home by Indah Island brings a refined interpretation of the classic Florida Keys aesthetic into a contemporary Australian setting. Designed by Natalee Bowen, the residence is a statement in craftsmanship, balance and long-term liveability.

A Home Designed Around Lifestyle

The project was driven by a clear vision: to create a home that feels just like a luxury hotel, complete with the comforts, indulgence and meticulous experiences found in the finest retreats.

The owner wanted every room to capture expansive Swan River views. This led to a floor plan centred around open living zones, an entertainer’s kitchen, a dedicated guest wing and a series of private, resort-inspired spaces.

Natalee designed an entire personal wing for the owner, including a study, bedroom, wellness area, spa, sauna and a plunge pool. A glass conservatory sits at the heart of the home, blurring the line between indoors and out while acting as a transition between personal and shared spaces.

Design Expression and Interior Detailing

Although the home is a new build, Natalee aimed for a timeless sense of classic architecture. The design draws from traditional coastal influences while carefully avoiding trend-driven choices.

Layered mouldings, coffered ceilings and detailed cabinetry form the backbone of the interior expression. These elements were never treated as decorative add-ons. Instead, they were integrated early in the planning process so the architecture, furniture, joinery and lighting all speak the same design language.

The homeowner is an avid collector of antiques and art, and the design needed to complement these pieces without overwhelming them. Every wall, junction and proportion was considered with this balance in mind.

Craftsmanship Across Every Detail

The project was highly personalised, with artisan trades brought in to execute key elements such as the coffered ceilings, staircase newel posts, and full-height cabinetry.

Natalee’s approach meant the team worked collaboratively from the earliest stages, aligning on construction sequencing, moulding integration and fine details so the design intent remained intact. The owner only visited site three times throughout the build, placing full trust in the Indah Island team.

Thoughtful Use of Intrim Mouldings

The home features a layered classical scheme created with Intrim’s premium profiles below: SK505 skirting, 230mm , SK799 architraves, 115mm , SB01 skirting blocks , Traditional wainscoting using IN09 inlay moulds topped with CR46 chair rails.

These profiles support the timeless aesthetic Natalee set out to achieve, complementing the detailed joinery and allowing the architectural envelope to feel cohesive and resolved.

A Home Built to Impress

Completed in 2024 after a meticulous multi-year design and build process, the residence has quickly become a landmark home on the Swan River. Within days of moving in, the owner hosted a large celebration where the detailing, craftsmanship and styling became star features of the evening.

The home now continues to evolve as Natalee works with the owner to curate new antiques and artworks — a testament to the trust and creative partnership built through the project.
