The design brief from this client was simplicity itself. “White as snow and crisp as summer”. To create a statement kitchen of subtle proportions that will work for this busy family.
Warm white acrylic cabinetry was used for its durability and smooth finish. To keep the design modern and minimal the fridge freezer, rangehood and dishwasher were all fully integrated.
Stick white mosaic tiles were used as a splash back because they are modern and timeless but most importantly, to add texture. LED strips were used under the wall units to light the counter tops and enhance the texture of the splash back.
Brass hardware was chosen for the handles and tapware to add warmth and compliment the cabinetry finish.
The scullery space was created for the client to work in and ensure the kitchen always stayed clean and clear. This meant bench space and storage in here was key. Drawers and corner solutions were used throughout to allow for maximum volume and accessibility.
The ceiling skylight was a key element of the design. The hob was center to the bench which kept it centered the skylight. The sink was then placed opposite to the hob and asymmetrical to the island which allowed for one large working area.
The finishing key elements was framing the skylight and hob by using the tall cabinets at either end of the back wall. Creating a focal point which draws your eye. This was also mirrored on the island by using full depth end panels.
