Fusing the heritage of the Jan Logan brand with a contemporary aesthetic, unexpected material combinations work harmoniously with the more traditional walnut timber.
Jan Logan is an Australian jewellery brand of significant heritage and esteem. Their new store in the iconic Tattersalls mall in Brisbane's CBD presented an opportunity to reimagine the current store experience into one that felt uniquely Queensland. Cues were taken from the warmth of the regional landscapes, paired alongside materiality that represented the stark coolness of the urban location.
A sweeping timber skin runs the perimeter of the space, with curves mirrored on the softly rendered bulkhead. Alongside these geographic references, the geometry and shapes of the precious and semi-precious stones, synonymous with the Jan Logan brand, were the inspiration behind the unique and sculptural display cabinets. Unexpected material combinations work harmoniously with the more traditional walnut timber to ensure the heritage of the brand and the new contemporary direction was reflected.
