Settled into semi rural landscape, the elevated and largely flat site platform allows an expansive single level three bedroom house and generous car parking and landscaping areas.  Inspired by mid-century modern Californian architecture, the house is a low slung pavilion, where south facing wall is largely enclosed, cast in situ concrete combined with cedar shiplap weatherboards, contrasted with north facing wall, which is extensively glazed. The north facade opens out to an extensive timber deck looking across the grounds to Uretara Stream beyond.

In keeping with the house overall minimalist theme, the exterior material palette is reduced to two key materials: stained vertical cedar shiplap weatherboard cladding featured prominently with timber grain texture extending over to board formed cast in situ concrete walls. On south-east end of the house, the concrete board formed walls form two central spines which connect above entry hall, which features the only glazing at entry elevation, adding a sense of mystery.

Internally polished concrete floors contrast with roughly textured board formed in situ concrete walls which extend to exterior glazed panels to blur boundaries between indoor and outdoor. The boundaries are further blurred in the living room with a postless north-west corner with large stacker sliders that fully opens onto the L shaped timber deck. The extensive full height glazing provides a full east to west living-dining space and open vistas towards north.

The interior features a continuous 2.7m high ceiling, a black and white monochromatic minimalist modern kitchen with solid stone benchtops, internal cedar weatherboard clad fireplace, underfloor central heating, recessed pull down blinds and secret bathroom window. Externally the house features an outdoor fireplace, outdoor lounge and dining areas and hot tub, shaded with continuous black painted pergola rafters.

Inside a TV Room +  library offers an informal cosy alternative to the more formal living space accessed via two full height cavity sliders recessed into cedar clad fireplace
