Diners enticed by rippling timber look facade at new restaurant in Chadstone.

Ignite Architects were able to realise their vision for the facade of Lanzhou’s flagship store in Chadstone, thanks to Covet’s Ever Art Wood timber look Koshi battens.

Melbourne’s largest and most luxurious Shopping precinct has recently become home to Lanzhou’s first flagship store. The front of the facade, with its undulating, tube-shaped timber look battens, is an ingenious nod to the venue’s signature dish - authentic beef noodles. It's a fantastic visual metaphor that adds interest and movement to the venue’s exterior.

The installation of this striking feature was made simple using Ever Art Wood Koshi hollow section aluminium battens. The lightweight battens were cut to length and supplied prefinished with a textured timber look wrap. Battens of staggered lengths on the perimeter of the outdoor seating area create a mesmerising ripple effect while ceiling battens are mounted to curved supports.

The ends of each section were finished with vacuum-sealed end caps featuring the same realistic timber look polymer wrap as the battens. This further enhanced the stunning realism of the timber look that was desired.
