THE PROJECT

Little Sky Gelateria was a new gelato store in Brighton in VIC in need of a full fit out that was customer friendly and suited the overall Little Sky design and branding. The empty shell of the store had lightly polished concrete floors, matching the new modern décor perfectly. The owners wanted to retain that look with the new flooring. The entrance of the gelateria has a small ramp to comply with government regulations and there were some concerns around it being slippery. The kitchen area also required a non slip finish and the concrete in the bathroom floor was in need of attention.

THE SOLUTION

Dulux Avista Waterbased Sealer was used on the shop floor and entry ramp to give a more natural wet look, enhancing the concrete underneath. The Dulux Avista Slip Reducing Additive Crushed Glass is applied while the sealer is still wet and was used to provide strong slip resistance on the ramp. The kitchen area was sealed with Dulux Avista 2 Pack Urethane for a durable finish, with the Slip Reducing Additive Powder included for slip resistance. The bathroom floor was covered using the Dulux Avista Flake Flooring System comprising of Dulux Avista Waterbased Epoxy, Navy Granite Decorative Flakes and 2 Pack Urethane Sealer top coat.

BENEFITS

• Dulux Avista Waterbased Sealer is easy to apply and fast drying (1-2 hours) for more efficient application, so it was possible to apply three coats on the same day 
• The sealer has low VOC and a semi gloss finish to give a natural wet look once dry, allowing the concrete to feature • The Dulux Avista Slip Reducing Additives with Crushed Glass or Powder provide a greater grip to concrete floors and are easy to add to the relevant sealer coats
