MacMurray Medical Centre

Creating places that truly matter, the MacMurray Medical Centre is a purpose-built healthcare facility designed to support wellness and recovery. Situated in a semi-industrial area, the building integrates seamlessly into its surroundings with a simple mono-pitch roof wrapped in light metal cladding, complemented by soft landscaping.

The design features a warm timber interior that contrasts with the durable exterior, with a timber accent at the main entry providing a subtle connection between inside and out. The facility includes a large waiting room, four consult rooms, two theatres, recovery rooms, and various support spaces, ensuring efficient operation and patient care.

Natural light is carefully incorporated to enhance the internal environment. A large window in the recovery room, positioned alongside planting, introduces a connection to nature, while high-level clerestory windows facing south provide daylight and create volume in the centre of the building. A prominent bay window at the street frontage forms a defining architectural element, positioned above a landscaped garden.

Designed for functionality and long-term resilience, the MacMurray Medical Centre balances practicality with a considered approach to materiality, light, and spatial planning.
