Cliff top house, 380sqm floor area over three stories + designed to take advantage of the spectacular coastal views.

The House is constructed in concrete and structural steel, cladding consists of solid plaster, composite aluminium panels, anodized aluminium joinery with double glazing and privacy – sun screens.

Top floor level accommodates four Bedroom Suites and Office. The mid level contains an Open Plan Living space, courtyard with above ground swimming pool, Entrance, Garaging and Services Rooms. The lower level contains a Media Room, Cellar, Pool Bathroom, rainwater tanks and Plant Room.

Specialist design input: Geotechnical; Specific Wind Design Site; Specific Building Envelope Design; Weather tightness Monitoring During Construction.

Project completed 2010.

Cornthwaite Architects Limited is a bespoke practice formed in 2003 by John Cornthwaite. A New Zealand Institute of Architects Registered Practice based in Auckland specializing in Clifftop, Heritage (Villa’s and Bungalow’s) + Re-clad Residential Projects, Commercial Projects + Interior Design.

We work closely and collaboratively with our clients to produce creative design solutions resulting in buildings and spaces with enduring quality and soul. We have a philosophy of embracing the creation of functional and sustainable spaces to meet our client’s needs.
