Matakatia Paradise

Here’s a builder’s home that’s a big deal. The 574sqm house sits on a 1749sqm Whangaparāoa Peninsula site that takes in sweeping views of the Hauraki Gulf. They’re not the only aspects of the property that are next-level. Luxury, opulence and top-notch craftsmanship are evident everywhere in this coastal estate. The sense of grandeur starts at the gate and carries on through the house with its four bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms and five lounges. It continues out to spacious decks and an infinity pool with those vistas. The covered walkway to the entrance has a shiplap cedar ceiling and schist-clad columns. It’s a combination that’s repeated around the property and provides cohesion. Inside, special touches abound designer lighting, a home cinema, marble-tile bathrooms, a soaring atrium with mezzanine and a walk-in wardrobe you could lose yourself in. Not to forget the mini-putting course between the house and pool. The undisputed stars, however, are the views – and this house has been cleverly designed to frame them from as many rooms as possible. You could say the builders have achieved a grand slam.
