Founded by Graeme and Michelle Hopkins, Groundcover has been breathing new life into the Hamilton landscaping scene since 2004.

Both Graeme and Michelle were raised in the mighty Waikato. Graeme originally started his career as a quantity surveyor, and Michelle’s background is in graphic design.

During their OE, Graeme landed a position at London’s renowned Covent Garden Flower Market, and discovered he enjoyed working with plants. He subsequently moved into a landscaping role at a central London garden centre, and continued in this career on their return to New Zealand.   

Ready to bring their skills, expertise and vision to life, Graeme and Michelle decided the time was right to start their own business and created Groundcover Landscaping Ltd. These days, in addition to the overall management of the business, Graeme’s role includes meeting new clients and helping bring their landscaping ideas to life, while Michelle focuses on the admin and marketing side of the business.

Over 15 years later, Groundcover has evolved into Hamilton’s leading landscaping company with hundreds of projects at a standard matched by none.

When they’re not busy transforming outdoor dreams into realities you may find Graeme and Michelle outdoors with their two daughters Libby and Clara swimming and bike-riding.
