This luxury coastal home is based in a beautiful exclusive enclave on Waiheke Island. With premier ocean and city views, the home had recently been purchased by a returning ex-pat family who wanted a New Zealand base to spend part of their year in.

The client brief was to create a home for all seasons and a private space away from the waterfront and prevailing winds. A design was proposed that would allow for outside living all year round no matter the variable New Zealand weather. A large pool was also part of the brief with the design to feel like a luxury resort at home.

Island Interiors design was for a light, bright space that blurred the line between indoor and outdoor living. A loggia was created to be used all year round with natural light as the primary focus. Island Interiors lead the design direction and finishes throughout including the swimming pool and pool buildings. A detailed schedule of finishes was also provided including furniture and fittings.

The client was based both in New Zealand and abroad throughout the project with regular meetings taking place either online or in-person as well as and regular site visits throughout the project.
