Gibb Building was engaged to build our home in 2012. We were absentee clients, but Nevin made every effort to ensure we were always aware of how the build was progressing and we felt we were fully informed at each step, including regular financial updates.
We found Nevin to be a highly competent builder and project manager. We quickly developed confidence in his ability to identify issues and deal with them effectively. He has extremely high standards and worked with his team to complete a quality build with quality workmanship and attention to detail. Nevin was always approachable and has very good communication skills. He organised meetings with subcontractors, ensuring we were getting exactly what we wanted.
He has an understanding of the regulations and obligations of both resource and building consents and maintained a tidy work site in keeping with current health and safety regulations. Neighbours commented on their efforts to minimise any disruption.
When we visited the site Nevin was always available to meet with us and his team of builders and subcontractors were always friendly and welcoming. After we had moved in to our new home, Nevin continued to work to ensure that any issues were dealt with quickly and efficiently, until we were completely satisfied with our new home. Gibb Building Wanaka Limited (GBWL) has 20 years experience in the Wanaka area, specialising in custom-built architectural homes. We pride ourselves on our reputation of delivering homes built to the highest standard and working alongside our clients and their architects to deliver their dream property.
This includes the relationships we have built over these years with our subcontractors who also understand our client’s vision and equally set the same high standard of workmanship.
The GBWL team and our subcontractors always take pride in seeing a new home or renovations being handed over to the owners, completed to meet their vision on time, on budget and to the highest standard.
Our focus at GBWL is to work alongside the architect and clients from the early stages to understand the overall concept of the project and to work together to ensure we achieve and met all of the client’s needs, this could be also to help work thru sourcing and the using of alternative methods or materials, looking at the cost-effectiveness, using our years of practical knowledge to assist the architect and the owners in producing the perfect finished product.
Recently, Nevin and the team at GBWL have completed work on a large scale holiday home at Mt Brown for absentee owners, where work included a large scale dwelling with separate guest house. The build was completed on time and on budget. In the same year work, the team also completed work on the Hidden Hills show home; which was an architectural build of 370sqm, with many interesting features, utilising bespoke products.
Other recent projects completed, also include three new properties, one in Galloway Tce, the second in Clearview Street (Peninsula Bay) both of which were architectural builds of approx. 350 sqm. The third, is a large new project in Elderberry Cres, in Far Horizons Park, Wanaka, for a couple from Sydney, building their dream holiday home in Wanaka for themselves and their extended family.
The past few years have been busy, with a number of new homes being completed within the Wanaka area. These jobs have all resulted in happy clients, which is a driving factor for Nevin and the GBWL team, as they believe that these client relationships are what successful building is all about.
