Innovation and Sport.

The New Zealand Campus of Innovation and Sport is located on the former CIT site in Upper Hutt and is home to some of the premier sports teams in New Zealand. Holmes Construction are proud to have been the Main Contractor for both new build facilities and the repurposing of old structures on campus grounds.

Holmes are involved in the construction of the Performance Institute, indoor green room, C-Block, B-Block and J3-Block. The C-Block was a repurpose of the old CIT research facility warehouse into 4 new changerooms, laundry and kit rooms for the Hurricanes, Wellington Phoenix and Wellington Rugby.

The indoor green room is an indoor all-weather multi-purpose 3,500m2 training field. It was constructed using coresteel structural frames and comprises IRB and FIFA certified turf, an 18m height to the apex of the structure along with a gigantic interactive screen and dividing curtain. This facility also includes a 1000m2 gym space, bike studio, recovery suites, medical and physiotherapy suites and changing rooms. B-Block was the repurpose of old CIT research facility warehouse into 2 analytic rooms and 3 coach changerooms. J3-Block is an exciting new build facility for FIFA 2023 women’s world cup. Construction was completed on time for the Performance Institute and C & B-Blocks, despite delays with material supply and delivery and the sheer size of the projects. J3-Block is still ongoing and expected to be completed prior to the FIFA 2023 Women’s World Cup.
