This project was a moderately sized house hidden away in the mountains overlooking PIHA designed with a very contemporary look. The mission was to complement the style using light fittings and solutions to enhance the ambient and the coastal feel the final client was looking for.
The briefing was simple: "nothing too obvious", in respect of the lighting system selected, and " relax " the password for the target. Lighting Solutions did have a free hand on this project to propose extreme minimalistic choices.
The result is a well-balanced atmosphere enveloping the daily lighting necessity and sustaining the need of a modern family with busy parents and energetic kids.
We have the right light where we need it when we need it, says Sean, the owner.
From an application point of view, the final product of this project is extremely high-tech to achieve a minimalistic look.
We managed to obtain a very good result not only in relation to the light levels achievable from the fittings but also in relation to the ‘home feel' sought after.
Lighting is an abstract concept, difficult to quantify, and sometimes with unexpected results. the PIHA house is a premium example of a very well-planned project with an excellent outcome.
