Polynesian Spa - Ra Cafe

Our client required a refresh to their existing café in the entrance lobby of the Polynesian spa in Rotorua. Having been involved with the master plan Wingates understood the connection and importance of the café to the business. We reviewed the existing layout and proposed to relocate the café counter from the west window side to the south side achieving eye contact with the customer on arrival and a connection to the café as visitors passed through.

Scale was brought to the space by placing a canopy over the counter and by hanging the large sculptural wire lights. We kept the existing kitchen in the same location which enabled the customer counter and working area to be low height and open.
