Prebbleton Poolside Seclusion

‘Prebbleton Poolside Seclusion’ is a residential renovation project located in the impressive Mersham Green subdivision in Prebbleton, on the outskirts of Christchurch.

The homeowners embarked on a major exterior renovation project and approached Xteriorscapes to achieve their aspiration of a private and secluded poolside entertaining area. The existing modern house sits proud on the corner site at the entrance to the subdivision, however it was fully exposed to surrounding neighbourhood and the ferocious prevailing easterly wind. The homeowners wanted to create a warm, cosy, comfortable outdoor roofed living space as an extension to the house with cooking facilities and seamless flow out to the swimming pool area, using a variety of modern materials and be of low maintenance.

The result is a level entry hardwood timber decked courtyard area covered with an overhead heated louvre roof system, outdoor kitchen, coloured concrete outdoor living spaces, a family sized outdoor swimming pool with a tiled splash deck and bubbler jets for the grandkids, sun lounger break out spaces and in-built seating in the pool area, an amenity astroturf green space, all enclosed with a vertical cedar and honed stack bond concrete block boundary walls for privacy, sound proofing, and easterly wind protection.
