Stunning coastal home with a unique curved roof and unobtrusive garage placement, designed by architect Lance Goodwin, overlooking the Waikanae Estuary.
Miles and Julia were already satisfied clients of Mike Craig Builders as the team had built their existing home in Paramata. So when the couple found a challenging section with stunning views overlooking the Waikanae Estuary they immediately contacted Mike about a possible new build.
A particular challenge for this site was the placement of the garage. An engineer was engaged to devise a plan to site the garage in an unobtrusive position. Successfully securing local Council planning permission to make this happen was part of the deal with Mike Craig Builders.
The end result is a beautiful home (and garage) designed by architect Lance Goodwin that incorporates wonderful estuary and sea views. The building includes a difficult to create but visually stunning curved roof designed to represent the natural curve of a boat, which is entirely appropriate for the coastal setting.
