A vibrant and functional kitchen designed for a busy family of eight, featuring bold geometric cabinetry and a striking orange Smeg fridge, completed in 2017.
Welcome to the Orange Retro Kitchen project by Nicola Manning Design! A family of eight, with kids from newborn to twenties, needed a kitchen that could handle their busy household. The goal was to create a practical space with plenty of storage and bench space, while adding a pop of colour and texture for interest.
The design was inspired by the vibrant orange Smeg fridge, setting the tone for the colour palette and style. Bold geometric shapes in the cabinetry and tiling contrasted beautifully with the curved appliances, creating a modern retro look. Despite challenges like a fireplace and shower nearby, clever solutions were implemented to maximise space and storage, leaving the family with a well-functioning kitchen they love.
