Preserving the original
Many fine old homes like the property in Remuera Road cry out for repair and renovation. With vast experience in this type of project, 505 has specialist suppliers and artisans who provide matching materials and expertise.
Working in stages
The project was done in stages – starting with a state of the art kitchen and scullery, then on to a master bedroom and ensuite on one floor and a group of bedrooms on the next. The interior design set off elegant new features: a cluster of bulbs as a pendant light, striking colour in art, polished wood floors and free-standing bathtubs.
A clear entry for visitors
Instead of multiple, confusing entrances, landscape changes offer visitors one entrance leading to the front door. A raised, paved deck flowed on from the interior dining room and kitchen. A pergola with retractable canvas awning copes with rain or sun. Nearby is the above-ground pool, with a landscaped trench – an attractive alternative to safety fencing.
