Rooftop Retreat
Perched up nine levels into the sky, this Bronte rooftop project is starting to mature and come into its own. The exposed rooftop was extensively reworked using materials such as natural stone, recycled timber, and copper, to imbue a sense of the natural. Our client wanted to be able to use the space in all weather, and steel pergolas were craned into place, with fully weatherproof sides, for those days when the wind just blows. A lift was installed for ease of access from below, along with a powder room and full bar area. The planting is soft and somewhat whimsical and adores the extreme heat of summer. Over time, the tea trees will offer a protective canopy.
