Sale Street

The site is located in sale street. The simple design consists of 2 levels of car parking and 7 levels of commercial/retail.
The design proposes a simple curtain wall building, wrapped in a fabric which will provide shelter from sunlight and privacy from the public. The vertical fins of the building is reminiscent of the shark drying scaffolds “Te Koranga” which once took place on the site, while the undulating nature of the facade mimic the movements of sand–a nod to the sites coastal location prior to land reclamation.
