Taranaki Base Hospital features a Thermosash curtainwall with integrated terracotta tiles and aluminum weatherboard, designed to accommodate building movement and enhance earthquake resilience, while enabling rapid installation and internal fitout progress.
Taranaki Base Hospital in New Plymouth utilised Thermosash curtainwall with integrated terracotta tiles and aluminum 'weatherboard', in order to manage the anticipated building movement, whilst ensuring the building will remain largely operational should it be exposed to a large earthquake. By unitising the facade system - the envelope was installed much faster than a traditional build which enabled the intensive internal fitout to progress quickly.
