Through transparent collaboration with Jackson Architects, the vision of our clients, Casey & Richard Martin, was delivered to their brief “to create a beautiful space to deliver a positive funeral/life event experience”. The conversion of the old NPDC Parks Department depot sheds into a modern, future-proofed and enlightened chapel building, in synergy with its surroundings, achieved this admirably.
The incorporation of modern materials, technology and features – including its fully-integrated (audio/visual, lighting, climate control, etc.) systems – alongside old results in something special, so special it has been honored with both a New Zealand Institute of Architects Incorporated “2018 Western Commercial Architecture” Award and a Registered Master Builders’ “2018 New Zealand Commercial Project Gold” Award.
