Te Manawa - Westgate Library and Multi-Purpose Facility

Website

LOCATION: 11 Kohuhu Lane, Westgate, Auckland
ARCHITECT / DESIGNER: Warren and Mahoney
COMPLETED: 2019

Te Manawa has been built and designed to be a community hub for learning, creating and connecting. The facility utilises many different materials to create a sustainable and unique design, with glass playing a central role.

This project was one of Woods Glass's most diverse builds with plenty of different aspects of the build creating unique challenges. Some of these were:

  • Yellow Vanceva glass wall
  • X2 Cantilever glass balustrade systems
  • Glass skylight
  • Frameless glass bifold door system
  • Red Vanceva glass stair
  • Frameless Glass wall assembly with glass fin support
  • Glass internal partition and doors
  • External glass frit canopy

This resulted in Woods working on multiple interfaces concurrently to ensure we delivered on time while achieving a world class finish all whilst battling the elements on a site prone to high winds.
