The imaginative, and highly skilled, use of Plymasters’ Euro Birch has made the stairwell at TECT Community Hub a feature of the Tauranga City Council’s impressive new facility.

The joinery is the work of local company, Mount Maunganui-based BBC Commercial. Highly respected for their quality workmanship, their experienced team have been providing commercial fit-outs, shop fittings and a range of tailored and versatile joinery solutions to businesses throughout New Zealand for over a decade.

BBC Commercial’s Manager Mark Crowhurst says they had worked with Plymasters before. “They always provide a good service and are very helpful.” Plymasters have provided the company with a wide range of products for an equally wide range of jobs.

Chosen for its multi-ply edge grain, the Euro Birch plywood stairwell fins help create a light and airy environment, which also complements the metal framework.

Generally used in high-end architecture, the surface of Euro Birch is free from defects giving it a smooth surface and strong screw holding power, in this design it makes the screws feature in themselves.

Mark says the Euro Birch performed well at TECT Community Hub, stayed straight, and was a pleasure to work with.
