Boutique hotel renovation.

Wautier Carpets was engaged to support the recent multi-million-dollar refurbishment of The Sebel Melbourne Flinders Lane, working closely with Penny of Studio del Castillo and Dezign on the hotel’s comprehensive interior renewal. The refurbishment was undertaken to reinforce the property’s reputation as one of Melbourne’s leading boutique hotels and included the complete upgrade of all 60 suites, alongside refreshed public areas and circulation spaces.

Our in-house design team assisted in the design and manufacture of bespoke carpet solutions for the lobby, guest rooms and communal areas, responding to the project’s “contemporary urban chic” design direction. Public corridors and shared spaces were revitalised through the introduction of new carpet, artworks and paintwork, while the reception was reconfigured to create a more welcoming check-in experience and a relaxed guest lounge, complete with an electric fireplace.

Part of Accor Vacation Club, the project aligns with the hotel’s ongoing commitment to quality, longevity and guest experience. In line with its sustainability standards, high-quality pre-loved furniture was donated to local charities and materials were reused within the community, minimising landfill impact. The result is a refreshed, layered interior that balances comfort, durability and contemporary design in the heart of Melbourne.
