Timberland-finish adds stunning texture

With oak floors and a grey-stained cedar ceiling setting the scene, the choice of the right melamine cabinetry was a critical one for designer Paula Waterhouse.  The client was clear they 'didn't want a black kitchen' so the richly toned and rustic Hickory Walnut was chosen for its ability to work tonally with the other timbers.

With hidden handles creating a smart-looking negative black detail on the cabinetry, the rustic-styled Hickory Walnut claims most of the attention in this stylish kitchen.  However, Black melamine has made an appearance on the tall cabinetry at the back of the kitchen as a counterpoint to the striking Walnut design.   Both melamine designs used the deeply textured Timberland finish plate to provide added interest and a realistic timber grain.

In the laundry, the same Timberland finish was used for the Sovereign Oak melamine.
