Brief & Context

Living on the South Coast of NSW water foreshore captures the natural beauty and ambience of a boutique beachside town. This contemporary four-storey apartment development, nominated for the Excellence in NSW Regions & ACT Development 2020 Urban Development Institute of Australia award, establishes an oasis-like experience tailored for daily relaxation.

Challenge & Intent

To resolve a complex construction challenge, the design was meticulously coordinated to ensure the modular bathroom pods physically fit the building framework. Additionally, the interior layouts were heavily refined and tailored to meet the individual needs of purchasers.

Lifestyle & Experience

The layout comprises 12 lifestyle residences, transitioning from ground-level garden apartments up to penthouses above. The internal plan prioritises a deliberate blend of privacy and liveability, framing captivating ocean and coastal views through expansive openings that maximise the waterfront connection. This intentional combination of practical layout and scenic connection ensures a multi-residential building engineered for modern, functional living.

Jury Citation

Setting a new benchmark for development in Jervis Bay, this boutique four-storey building features 12 lifestyle apartments built over a bentonite wrapped basement level, comprising a selection of 2 and 3 bedroom residences, completed and occupied on the 10th December 2019. Each apartment has created a liveable, contemporary home with space to relax and entertain. Located on the exclusive beachfront strip at 7 Beach Street, the Watermark Huskisson strikes the perfect balance of convenience and relaxed coastal lifestyle. This luxury project consists of high end joinery & innovative use of bathroom pods to best manage the quality delivery of regional construction.
