Newmarket Streetscape.

Westfield Newmarket represents a high-profile flagship project for the Scentre Group and an important asset to the Auckland community. The $790 Million projects involved the renovation of the existing 277 Broadway building and the clearing, development, and construction of the adjacent 309 sites to support over 200 retail stores adjoined by a two-level “sky-bridge.” The result is a premier shopping, entertainment, and dining precinct within the heart of Newmarket.

JFC delivered key civil works, earthworks, and ancillary streetscaping requirements surrounding the site, including world-class streetscape finishing, including curb and channel, footpaths, paving, planting, lighting, and bollard installations

Nestled within Newmarket’s top-tier shopping precinct, and within close proximity to motorway access and key commuter routes, the construction project took place within a major activity hub of Auckland. This required careful programming and communication with multiple construction teams and contractors in order to work around each other in restricted workspaces, while providing minimal disruption to surrounding businesses and pedestrians.

The first stage of the project opened to the public on the 29th of August 2019, with additional internal phases of the project opening in stages between August and December 2019.
