Kiwi Carpentry is a trusted family owned and operated building and joinery business in Kaitaia - the beautiful Far North of New Zealand.

Our story begins on the other side of the world though...

The foundations for Kiwi Carpentry were laid back in 1988. This is where business founder Rob Bennie was honing his skills whilst on his OE in Europe. From restoring a 12th century brewery in Wiltshire, renovating a 17th century manor in Normandy, to shopfitting in Central London, he mastered it all. But the call of home was too strong and on returning to New Zealand in the late ‘90’s Rob brought the Kiwi Carpentry brand back with him.

Fast forward over 30 years, we now have a team of incredibly skilled carpenters, joiners, apprentices, and managers. Together we have built a great reputation for our professionalism, quality and unique work style.

We pride ourselves on the services we can provide with our purpose built joinery workshop which was completed in October 2021. With our specialist machinery, we have the ability to complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner, saving our customers time and money.

Part of our Joinery workshop is committed to manufacturing:

• Interior and exterior stairs
• Pre-hung doors
• Cavity pockets
• Linen cupboard shelving

We supply these products mainly in the Far North, with a lot of jobs travelling all over New Zealand and even to Australia.

The other side of our workshop is where our true passion lies in Solid Timber Joinery. Our team love working with timber and on jobs that are out of the ordinary, quirky and thought provoking. This work includes:

• Timber windows and doors
• Joinery refurbishment or replacement
• Bespoke custom joinery solutions. Curved windows and more
• Solid timber benches plus bar and table tops
• One of a kind furniture

Our building team carry out work in and around the Far North region. Their scope of work is quite varied and includes:

• Historic restorations
• Home renovations
• Commercial shop fit outs
• Outdoor entertainment areas
• Community projects and more

Our newest addition is Glulam beams. Which has been an exciting journey beginning in 2022. We're currently servicing the Far North with plans to make our way down the Island as we grow and expand. Contact us for all your glulam needs:
