By Brown & Company
Brown & Company have consented Ziptrek Ecotours at Bobs Peak in Queenstown. The first consent was granted in 2008 for the Moa 4 line Tour. This tour incorporated four ziplines through the forest canopy connecting aerial treetop platforms (treehouses) that descended one third of the way down the mountain. In 2010 the Kea 6 line Tour which saw guests travelling all the way to the bottom of the mountain, including a beautiful walk through native beech forest. In 2018 we consented a variation (s127) to the consent to enable a twist to the Kereru Tour which incorporates 2 ziplines and then finishes with a 21m drop off one of the treehouses to the forest floor.
The use of the Council reserve required consents and permissions under the District Plan, Reserves Management Plan and a lease agreement with Council for the use of the Council reserve.
