A new date for the 2020 Meet, Greet & Eat will be confirmed next week.

Following the government announcement yesterday about the cancellation of all events larger than 500 people and in light of the extraordinary events of the last few weeks, ArchiPro today announced the postponement of this year’s Meet, Greet & Eat event in response to the ongoing global health emergency.

“While this comes as a disappointment to us, and the thousands of homeowners and industry professionals who have registered to attend, it is the safety of our communities that is paramount to us and we have, therefore, decided to postpone our annual event to a date later this year that will be announced next week,” ArchiPro director Milot Zeqiri said.

We will not stand still during this time ... we will continue to do everything we can to provide certainty during this unsettling time

“We will not stand still during this time. While recent events have offered a new perspective, it is our responsibility to continue to offer New Zealanders the best and our position as a leader in this field means we will continue to do everything we can to provide certainty during this unsettling time.

“For us, that means continuing to innovate and push boundaries in our sector so stay tuned for the latest details on the improved event and developments across our platform and event portfolio. As we take additional time to prepare for the 2020 event, we will do everything possible to ensure this is the best event yet because it is essential to continue to support the businesses that make up the architecture and building sector in New Zealand as we navigate together what is likely to become one of the most dynamic times in recent memory.

“We will continue to closely monitor the Covid-19 situation, and as things develop our plans will too. Staying connected to others is more important than ever and as such, while we can’t be together in person, we will continue communicating through our digital channels - channels which are now more vital than ever before as we focus on communicating with our audiences remotely.”

Industry leading architect Ken Crosson said the postponement was an inevitable result of the current global situation. “These events are really important for our industry so we look forward to getting together as soon as possible. It's important to be responsible at this time and the hope is that we can reconvene later this year at the Meet, Greet & Eat.”

ArchiPro will make an announcement next week to confirm the new date.
