We are delighted to share this luxury tourist accommodation project in the Hindmarsh Valley, South Australia – Ponderosa.

Cumulus opened our office in Adelaide in late 2020, led by Architect | Associate Jet O’Rourke. We have been working collaboratively on a number of tourism projects in the local area since then and we are proud of the outcome of this pod accommodation. For Pondersoa we shared the desire with our client to create a luxury accommodation offering where guests will be able to enjoy a unique experience immersed in the natural surrounds. Each pod is designed for its specific sight, and enjoys the landscape in a different way.

In addition to the pods, we have designed contemporary additions to an existing stone-walled cottage each accommodation offering harnesses the picturesque views toward the south coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula.

The Cottage Caters to larger groups and has been adapted to mimic the gabled roof forms of the original structure in a contemporary manner. The dwelling comprises five bedrooms in addition to an all-weather outdoor room including a kitchen and fireplace perfect for entertaining. A distinct lap pool sits parallel to the cottage and provides an infinity-edge view towards the rugged headland of the Bluff.
