Centor S4

Centor are quickly becoming the go to company for screen and blind solutions - not only here in New Zealand but around the world.  For over 10 years, Centor have developed various screen solutions for both the new build and retrofit market.  The recent addition of S4 pushes the boundaries on what can be achieved for today's building requirements.

What is Centor S4?  The S4 system enables homeowners with large door openings to enjoy the luxury of indoor-outdoor living without the traditional compromises – insects, glare and loss of privacy. Operating with just a fingertip, Centor’s unique load balancing technology allows screens and blinds to glide smoothly across the whole door opening to effortlessly stop at any desired position. When not in use, the screen or blind retracts discreetly into the frame removing visual distractions to the view outside whilst also protecting it from damage, dust or dirt. This is especially important for a seasonally used product.  Centor is proud to have been awarded a 'Red Dot: Best of the Best 2019' for the S4 system. This accolade is the highest awarded by the judging panel of one of the world’s largest design competitions and is reserved for the best products in a category.

One of the biggest to factors when considering the S4 system, is to ensure it's designed into the build from day one.  By doing this you can have integrated screens that slide away into the wall cavity, rather than having the frame extrusion mounted your opening.  This provides a level of luxury that you can't get with other products on the market.

The options with the S4 range are vast.  Screen and blinds are available in four configurations:

• Single
  • A single screen or blind that extends from one side of the frame and covers the full width of the opening.
• Combination
  • A combination of two fabric types, with one housed in each side of the frame, such as an insect screen from the left and a blind from the right.
• Double
  • Two screens or blinds (in the same fabric option), which meet at any point along the opening.
• Cornerless
  • Two screens or shades (in the same fabric option) meet at a 90-degree angle opening. This option allows for no corner posts to interrupt your view.

One of the features that has really peaked interest in the S4 system is the ability to have a combination screen.  This is perfect for areas such as bedrooms and living areas, where in the day you want to have an insect screen and at night a blockout blind - all which is hidden away inside the wall.  This gives you the added benefit of not needing window treatments interrupting interior design.

In addition to the various screen options, Centor can refinish the aluminium to blend in with your joinery.  Whether this is powder coated, anodised or a real timber finish, they can ensure that what limited aluminium is visible looks as if it's part of the joinery.
