The ecotio2® UV Resistant Surface Coating from Photocatalyst Coatings is an invisible coating that can be applied to external surfaces to protect against UV harm from ultraviolet light, ultimately extending the life of your painted surfaces
Australia and NZ have some of the highest atmospheric ultraviolet (UV) levels in the world. ecotio2®, nano titanium dioxide-based Photocatalyst Coatings, act as a sunscreen and are excellent UV absorbers. They are effective in protecting painted surfaces, plastics, and other substrates from UV harm.
An added benefit is that the coating inhibits dirt deposition and mould and algae growing upon painted surfaces to retain their original appearance and mechanical properties for longer.
Independent tests conducted in Japan have shown that the protection provided from UV degradation following the application of ecotio2® based coatings, can extend the durability of painted surfaces by up to three times their normal lifespan.
New Zealand is fortunate to have a relatively ‘clean’ atmosphere due to its remoteness, minimal heavy industry, and low population density. This however also means that UV radiation can penetrate the atmosphere relatively unhindered.
