French 18th Century Oak Arbalete Commode
A very handsome French 18th century Louis XV period oak arbalete (crossbow) commode. The chest has three carved drawers adorned with beautiful original period ormolu handles and keyhole escutcheons. The drawer fronts are decorated with beaded panels and carved scrolls while the sides feature three plank panels. The hand carved apron flows into rounded cabriole legs terminating in scrolled feet.
