In 1950, Michael Smail, saw an opportunity to bring new quality and sophistication to New Zealand bathrooms. The firm he founded, Smail & Co, is now known as Bath Co.

The design of New Zealand houses has transformed in the six decades since then. In particular, the bathroom and laundry have seen remarkable changes. Homes now feature multiple bathrooms, and dedicated laundry spaces have taken centre stage, both of which truly demonstrate the impact of considered design.

Bath Co continues to lead in innovative and inspired design of bathroom furniture and, most recently, our Laundry range.

Embracing new technology and manufacturing locally has allowed us to design for the changing lifestyles and interior trends of New Zealand.

We remain committed to New Zealand, continuing to manufacture our three most significant ranges in this country – Michel César, VCBC and Laundry. We also distribute Burlington, a prestige brand from the United Kingdom.

We take an active approach to ensure the brands and products we work with are easy on the planet as well as the eye. We believe superior quality and the ethical production of our products go hand in hand to produce a result we are proud to stand behind.
