Bond
J-FRAME 8 Structural LVL uses Phenol Formaldehyde Resin to produce an A Bond classification. This bond has a proven, internationally recognised durability record for exposure to moisture and stress. Australian Standard / New Zealand Standards AS/NZS 2754.1 “Adhesive for Timber and Timber Products” states for A Bond:
“……. can be used in applications involving extreme long-term exposure to weather or wet or damp conditions and/or long-term structural performance requirements without glue line break-down or glue line creep.”
Moisture content
J-FRAME 8 is supplied to market with a targeted moisture content of 18%. Glue lines in LVL can affect moisture content measurements. Moisture equivalency tables for J-Frame 8 developed by Scion are available at www.jnl.co.nz
Treatment
J-Frame 8 has CodeMark product certification for use where Hazard Class H1.2 or less applies.
Stress grading
J-FRAME 8’s design and manufacturing process, ensures consistency in strength, stiffness and stability. Two structural grades of J-Frame are produced. The characteristic properties of J-Frame are above the minimum of MSG8 in respect of J-Frame 8 and above the minimum of MSG10 for
J-Frame 11 as documented in table 2.3, NZS3603:1993 (Timber Structures Standard).
Finger jointing
Standard lengths of J-FRAME 8 over 3 metres will have one finger joint per length. Finger jointing is audited by the EWPAA to confirm manufacture in compliance with AS/NZS1491 Finger Jointed Structural Timber.
Product identification
J-FRAME 8 is print branded to show product name and grade, applicable standards, Hazard Class applications of use treatment classification, and certifying bodies.
J-FRAME 8 should be kept dry when being stored. Place on ground with packers and cover with water proof plastic to prevent moisture.
It’s manufactured for consistent strength, stiffness and stability – making it resistant to warp, twist and bow. The A Bond is proven to withstand exposure to moisture and weather, and /or long-term structural performance requirements.
It is resistant to warp, twist and bow - resulting in beautifully straight walls.
+ It makes for cleaner, smoother lines (for both internal and external cladding fnishes).
+ As J-Frame is manufactured to highly accurate and consistent dimensions, it reduces waste during construction.
+ J-Frame is harvested from 100% sustainable certified forestry in New Zealand.
+ J-FRAME is a CodeMark certified engineered wood product.
+ BRANZ Appraisal: No. 646
The Engineered Wood Products Association of Australasia (EWPAA) http://www.ewp.asn.au, SGS Timber Labs and Bureau Veritas, audit and/or test JNL J-Frame to verify JNL’s quality systems and products.
JNL is certified to both ISO9001 Quality, and ISO14001 Environmental, Management System Standards, both of which demand in-house documented procedures, training programs and process control systems.
Rigorous product testing as stipulated in the applicable standards and certification scheme rules are performed on each J-FRAME 8 manufacturing batch by JNL’s Quality Assurance Department. The internal testing is continually verified by the EWPAA independent testing of product, in its NATA accredited laboratory.
The JNL Wairarapa Mill has been manufacturing LVL for over 20 years and has attained Forestry Stewardship Council® (FSC® C009303) Chain of Custody (COC), testifying that the Pinus radiata used in J-FRAME 8 is from a sustainable, environmentally managed forest resource.
J-FRAME should be kept dry when being stored. Place on ground with packers to prevent moisture uptake. The plastic wrapping should be removed only when the product is being used and should be re-covered to maintain its dry state.
• Minimise exposure to weather and rain.
• Protect frames and trusses as soon as possible.
• Dry out before covering/lining after exposure to wetting.

Welcome to Juken New Zealand Ltd (“JNL”). We are a New Zealand (“NZ”) based and registered company with a growing global outreach. We have been heavily involved with the NZ forestry and wood-processing industries for the past 30 years – manufacturing advanced and innovative wood products from selectively planted, managed and harvested Radiata Pine for local and export markets. In that time we have become important economic and cultural contributors to the local communities within which we operate.
In an age where wood is becoming increasingly recognised and re-established as a product of choice for many structural and non-structural applications, we can offer you high quality, fit-for-purpose products to meet your needs.
We have sustainably managed and certified plantation forests in the East Coast and Wairarapa regions of NZ’s North Island. In Wairarapa we have one and in Kaitaia, we have two, efficient and environmentally clean wood processing mills. We employ nearly 460 people and obtain goods and services from several hundred suppliers.
Research and development are important to us, and we also benefit from the technology and resources of our Japan-based parent company WoodOne Ltd, a major international housing materials and componentry company, which has invested over $NZ700 million into our Company and NZ.
All of which means that in an age where wood is becoming increasingly recognised and re-established as a product of choice for many structural and non-structural applications we can offer you high quality, fit-for-purpose products to meet your needs.
WHAT WE DO
We make a wide range of engineered wood Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL), Panels and Solid Wood Products – for structural and non-structural purposes, for external or internal uses, and for appearance or non-appearance finishes.
All of it come from certified forestry we care for and harvest on a sustainable basis to ensure that you receive the very best products for your requirements. If we do not have the right trees we obtain them from other carefully selected sustainable sources. So we are closely involved and “hands-on” all the way through from the tree seed to the finished product. And in a way that is sensitive to the social needs and ecosystems within which we live, work and play.
Our forests are certified and managed according to internationally-recognised environmental standards – FSC®and ISO. They are immaculate. They provide the very best of raw materials to our wood processing mills which are also certified and managed according to international standards – including FSC®, ISO and EWPAA. Through innovative processes and skilled staff, our mills transform our harvested trees into high-quality products – products that are reliable and durable, that perform, and that can
be trusted.
Our range of products is wide and varied, but we are not limited to “off-the-shelf” solutions. If you cannot find what you are looking for in our current range then ask us about custom-made options to suit your exact needs. Such requests fit comfortably with our philosophy, and because we own the process from start to finish we will always try to meet your needs.
It is yet another reason why discerning customers who seek and demand the natural benefits of wood choose Juken New Zealand Ltd for top quality engineered and solid wood products.
