From the petals of Japanese cherry blossoms to the art of folding paper into origami, this collection of four designs takes inspiration from the patterns and colors found across traditional Japanese landscapes and spaces.
Placing power in craftsmanship, the Softscapes collection has been woven using a loom and shuttle. This technique lends itself to plain designs, allowing for small-scale patterns and interesting textures to shine. The benefit of this technique is that while it employs the same level of expertise, our craftspeople can weave much faster, meaning that lead times are shorter and prices are lower.
Inspired by the tranquil environment of the Japanese rake garden, Sono Salmon is crafted using carving techniques to elevate the curved motif. Handloomed in a wool and bamboo silk blend, Sono Salmon features a soft clay palette created using two subtly different shades.
