About us

Australian manufacturing.

Architectural flexibility. Solid surface solutions made for the way projects are actually designed.

Formed Solid Surface is an Australian manufacturer specialising in custom solid surface solutions for residential, multi-residential, commercial and architecturally specified wet-area environments.

Working with Meganite® acrylic solid surface, we manufacture precision-formed solid surface shower bases, vanity tops, integrated basins and custom fabricated solutions, combining advanced manufacturing capability with the versatility of a durable, non-porous and repairable material.

At Formed, we understand that specification rarely follows a one-size-fits-all approach. Dimensions change. Waste locations move. Wall conditions differ. Design intent demands flexibility. That is why customisation sits at the core of our manufacturing process.

Our shower bases can be manufactured with project-specific dimensions, outlet positioning, wall lips, shower screen lips, partial lips and lipless configurations, while our vanity and basin solutions can be tailored to suit individual layouts, dimensions, colours and architectural requirements.

But our role extends beyond manufacturing the finished product.

We work collaboratively with architects, designers, specifiers, builders and installers, providing technical and manufacturing insight during specification and detailing to help translate design intent into a practical, manufacturable solution. Where a project falls outside our standard parameters, our approach is to understand the requirement and explore how it can be achieved.

With Australian-based manufacturing, precision fabrication and direct access to technical support, Formed provides project teams with greater visibility and support from initial specification through to manufacture and installation.

Our focus is simple: create considered solid surface solutions that bring together design flexibility, material performance, technical knowledge and Australian manufacturing expertise.

If the standard solution doesn't fit the project, talk to us. Custom is what we do.

Why Specify Formed?

Formed Solid Surface combines Australian manufacturing, custom fabrication and project-specific technical support to provide architects, designers and specifiers with greater flexibility when designing wet-area environments.

Rather than requiring a project to conform to predetermined product dimensions and configurations, Formed works with project teams to manufacture solutions around the requirements of the design.

Our capabilities include custom shower base dimensions, outlet positioning, wall and shower screen lip configurations, integrated vanity basins, custom vanity dimensions and project-specific solid surface fabrication.

Working directly with an Australian manufacturer also provides access to the people responsible for producing the product. This allows technical and manufacturing considerations to be addressed during specification rather than discovered later during construction.

From initial concept through to manufacture and installation, our objective is to help translate architectural intent into a practical, manufacturable solution.

Custom Manufacturing

Custom is at the core of what we do.

Bathrooms and wet areas rarely follow a universal set of dimensions. Wall locations, plumbing positions, floor construction, shower screens and architectural detailing can vary considerably between projects.

Formed products can therefore be manufactured around the specific requirements of the application.

Our custom manufacturing capabilities include project-specific shower base dimensions, custom outlet positioning, wall lips, shower screen lips, partial lips, lipless edges, vanity dimensions, integrated basin configurations and selected custom solid surface fabrication.

Where a project falls outside our standard manufacturing parameters, it does not automatically mean the design cannot be achieved.

Our team can review the intended application and work with architects, specifiers, builders and installers to determine an appropriate manufacturing solution or recommend an alternative approach.

If the standard solution doesn't fit the project, talk to Formed.

For Architects & Specifiers

Formed welcomes early collaboration with architects, interior designers and specifiers.

Our products are highly customisable, which means involving our manufacturing and technical team during the design process can help identify opportunities, resolve detailing considerations and establish appropriate manufacturing parameters before documentation is finalised.

Send us your plans, dimensions, intended outlet locations, wall conditions, product requirements or design concept, and our team can review the application and assist in determining an appropriate Formed solution.

For more complex projects, we can work collaboratively with the project team to understand the design intent and identify how our manufacturing capabilities can support it.

Our goal is to make specifying custom solid surface products straightforward — providing the information, documentation and technical support needed to move confidently from concept to specification, manufacture and installation.

Technical & Specification Support

Formed provides Australian-based technical and specification support to assist architects, designers, specifiers, builders and installers throughout the project process.

Engaging with our team early allows manufacturing and installation considerations to be incorporated into the design before documentation is finalised.

Support may include assistance with product selection, shower base configuration, dimensions, outlet positioning, lip profiles, vanity configurations, installation detailing and project-specific manufacturing considerations.

Technical drawings, installation documentation and other specification resources are available to assist with project documentation and coordination between design and construction teams.

For customised or complex applications, project drawings and requirements can be reviewed with our team to help determine an appropriate Formed solution.

Our objective is not simply to supply a product, but to provide the technical knowledge required to specify it with confidence.

Compliance & Installation

Correct specification and installation are fundamental to the performance of any wet-area system.

Formed provides installation documentation and technical guidance to assist project teams in integrating our solid surface products into the surrounding construction.

Depending on the application, specification and installation should be considered in conjunction with the National Construction Code (NCC), AS 3740 – Waterproofing of domestic wet areas, applicable plumbing requirements including AS/NZS 3500, project documentation and other relevant regulatory requirements.

Formed shower bases are precision manufactured with the fall to the waste incorporated into the base, while available wall, shower screen, partial and lipless configurations provide flexibility for integration with different construction details.

As compliance depends on the complete installed system — not an individual component in isolation — surrounding substrates, waterproofing, plumbing, wall construction, screens and finishes must be appropriately specified for the project.

For project-specific installation questions, architects, builders and installers are encouraged to consult Formed's current technical documentation or contact our technical team.

Shower Base Design Options

Formed Solid Surface Shower Bases are manufactured to provide architects and designers with greater flexibility than conventional predetermined shower base configurations.

Available in 12mm and 20mm profiles, our shower bases can be customised to accommodate individual project dimensions, outlet positions and surrounding construction conditions.

Depending on the selected product and manufacturing parameters, configurations can include wall lips, shower screen lips, partial lips, custom lip profiles and lipless edges.

Different lip conditions can also be incorporated into the same shower base, allowing the product to respond to individual wall, screen and entry conditions.

The fall to the waste is precision formed during manufacture, creating a continuous solid surface shower floor without grout joints.

For projects requiring dimensions or configurations outside our standard parameters, Formed can assess the application and work with the project team to determine an appropriate solution.

Vanities & Integrated Basins

Formed Solid Surface vanity tops and integrated basins combine the versatility of Meganite® acrylic solid surface with Australian custom manufacturing.

Vanities can be manufactured to project-specific dimensions and configured with single, double or multiple basin arrangements, depending on the requirements of the application.

The fabrication characteristics of solid surface allow basin components and vanity surfaces to be joined with minimal visual interruption, creating a refined and continuous appearance.

Customisation can extend to vanity dimensions, basin positioning, tapware requirements, waste positioning, upstands, colour selection and other project-specific detailing.

The non-porous surface is easy to maintain and suitable for a wide range of residential, multi-residential, hospitality and commercial bathroom environments.

For architects and designers, this provides the flexibility to specify a vanity around the space and design intent, rather than designing around a predetermined product.

Solid Surface Material

Formed products are manufactured using Meganite® acrylic solid surface, a homogeneous material composed of acrylic resin combined with natural minerals and pigments.

Unlike tiled surfaces, solid surface provides a continuous, non-porous surface without grout joints, making it particularly well suited to contemporary wet-area applications.

The material can be precision machined, fabricated and joined with inconspicuous seams, providing significant design flexibility across shower bases, vanity tops, integrated basins and custom architectural components.

Solid surface is also repairable and renewable in many circumstances. Minor signs of wear can often be sanded and refinished rather than requiring complete product replacement.

With an extensive selection of colours and finishes available, Meganite® allows architects and designers to coordinate Formed products with surrounding tiles, cabinetry, fixtures and broader interior material palettes.

The result is a material that combines design flexibility, durability, hygiene and a refined architectural finish.

Colours & Finishes

Formed products are available in an extensive selection of Meganite® acrylic solid surface colours, allowing shower bases, vanity tops and integrated basins to become either a subtle component of the bathroom palette or a considered design feature.

The range includes options across the Essential, Signature and Architectural collections, encompassing contemporary neutrals, understated solids and more expressive stone-inspired designs.

Colour selection can be coordinated with surrounding tiles, cabinetry, tapware and other architectural finishes to create a cohesive material palette.

As colour representation can vary between digital displays and physical materials, physical samples are recommended for final specification and colour approval.

Architects, interior designers and specifiers can contact Formed for assistance with colour selection and project sampling.

Australian Manufacturing

Formed Solid Surface products are manufactured in Australia, providing architects, specifiers, builders and project teams with direct access to local manufacturing expertise.

Our solid surface shower bases, vanity tops, integrated basins and custom components are precision fabricated using modern manufacturing processes, including CNC machining where appropriate, to achieve accurate dimensions and project-specific detailing.

Local manufacturing gives Formed the flexibility to respond to requirements that are difficult to accommodate with standardised or imported products, including custom dimensions, outlet positions, lip configurations and bespoke fabrication.

It also allows our technical and production teams to collaborate directly with project stakeholders throughout specification and manufacture.

For Formed, Australian manufacturing is not simply about where the product is made — it is about providing greater flexibility, technical accessibility and project-specific support.

Downloads & Technical Resources

Formed provides a growing library of technical and specification resources to assist architects, designers, builders and installers throughout design, documentation and construction.

Available resources may include product specifications, installation guides, technical drawings, CAD details, colour information, product literature and specification guidance.

These resources are intended to assist with product selection, documentation and coordination between the architectural, building, waterproofing and plumbing requirements of the project.

As our products and technical documentation continue to evolve, we recommend using the current version of Formed documentation when specifying or installing our products.

For information not available within our published resources, contact Formed directly for project-specific technical assistance.

Sustainability & Product Lifecycle

Formed approaches product longevity through durable materials, repairability, local manufacturing and considered fabrication.

Meganite® acrylic solid surface is a homogeneous material that can be repaired, sanded and refinished in many circumstances, allowing surface damage or signs of wear to potentially be addressed without replacing the entire product.

This repairability can help extend the serviceable life of shower bases, vanity tops and other solid surface components when appropriately maintained.

Australian manufacturing also provides direct access to Formed's fabrication and technical teams, allowing project-specific solutions, repairs and manufacturing considerations to be discussed locally.

Where environmental performance or sustainability credentials are required for a particular specification, architects and specifiers should consult the relevant current manufacturer documentation and available environmental data for the selected Meganite® material.

Our approach is to communicate environmental attributes transparently and avoid making sustainability claims that cannot be supported by appropriate product documentation.

“Staff are very helpful and they are great products. We are replacing previous shower bases purchased from Formed due to renovation. The bases are so easy to clean, far superior to tile bases IMO. Some more colour choices would be good, but managed to find something close enough to my tiles.”
