Prior to renovating, the kitchen in this 1920s Ngaio villa lacked storage and the layout was less than ideal. The homeowner enjoyed spending time in her kitchen but not as it currently stood; she wanted a space that was fresh and functional. Undertaking the renovation left her with a bright and airy atmosphere with an adjusted footprint that was far more practical and balanced than its predecessor. Thoughtful touches found in the drawer pulls and exposed rimu shelving bridge the gap between the modern design and the home’s original character.
