A Little Bit French

Introducing "A Little Bit French," a stunning kitchen project completed in 2021 by Kitchen Studio Christchurch South. After relocating from Australia, the clients sought to transform their French Country-style home with a kitchen that matched the home's aesthetic and provided optimal functionality. The outdated blue and yellow kitchen was replaced while working within the existing footprint to accommodate under-floor heating. 

The design included specific requirements such as retaining the original fridge location, incorporating a built-in rangehood and freestanding oven, and creating space for a coffee machine and hidden appliance storage. A small butler's block, designed to complement the French Country theme, was added for both style and practicality. The sleek 20mm benchtops with a timber butcher's block, reused knobs, and matching cup handles for drawers all contributed to the cohesive design. 

The kitchen layout carefully considered the workflow, with the sink and dishwasher strategically placed for efficiency. Additional features like oil and spice pullout cupboards, on-bench pantry, and ceiling-height cabinetry maximized storage and usability. The butcher's block added a unique touch with open shelves and a rail for enhanced functionality and aesthetic appeal. "A Little Bit French" perfectly blends style and functionality for a truly remarkable kitchen space.
