Transformation of a former textile factory into Allpress Roastery and Cafe, featuring office spaces, coffee roasting areas, and lush green zones, enhanced by reclaimed materials and sustainable design elements.
The first project ever undertaken by Open Creative Studio was Allpress Roastery and Cafe in Collingwood.
Before this building became Allpress' home in Melbourne it was a former textile factory and warehouse. The brief required that the space accommodate a new office space, a coffee roasting and distribution area, tasting lab, collaboration and meeting space, cafe and kitchen area, and a luscious green zone.
The design of the refurbished site features extensive planting throughout the courtyard and carpark, reclaimed materials from the original factory, bespoke steel and timber windows and doors, and an 8kw solar array.
