Introducing a Modern Twist on Country, a project by Kitchen Studio Christchurch South that takes a classic building style and infuses it with contemporary design elements. With earthquake repairs on the horizon, this 1930’s house underwent a full renovation to breathe new life into its outdated kitchen. The original space was small and closed off, but with the addition of a skylight and removal of a wall, natural light now floods the area and creates a seamless flow.
Keeping the services in their existing locations was a priority, leading to innovative solutions like a peninsula for extra bench space and storage areas cleverly integrated into the design. From toekick drawers for baking essentials to a large corner pantry for food storage, every inch of this kitchen was thoughtfully crafted to meet the homeowner's needs. LED lighting was strategically placed to not only illuminate the space but also highlight artwork and plants, adding a touch of warmth to the room.
