Motivating students to take ownership of their learning.

Developed on a greenfield site in the outer north-western suburb of Melton, Arnolds Creek Primary School was designed to support a contemporary pedagogical approach and to foster the development of a strong community.

The development of the architectural design solution involved careful consideration of community linkages, usage after hours and the creation of an inviting and welcoming environment that would embrace the broader community and shape a unique identity that reflects the needs of all users.

There are spaces for hands-on learning, informal spaces for reflection and contemplation, small semi-intimate spaces for small group learning, centralised spaces for presentations and group gatherings, formal learning spaces for direct focused instruction, and outdoor learning spaces that allow students to engage with the natural environment.
