Set within the Northland countryside overlooking the Brynderwyn Hills, Blackwood was designed as a place to retreat, relax and entertain. Its long, low form sits quietly within the rural landscape, with a central living space opening generously to the surrounding fields. Dark timber cladding and concrete floors are balanced by warm natural timber, while expansive glazing and a series of skylights draw light deep into the home. The result is relaxed and grounded, with the landscape always present.

“Samantha (Sam) Elliot from ‘Studio Elliot’ has been fabulous to work with on our extensive villa renovation. She is an absolute gem and someone we would love to work with again. Sam is a highly experienced design practitioner, with extensive knowledge, connections and ideas to really bring out the best in any space. We found her personable, knowledgeable, thorough, detail focused and thoughtful. Sam listens to what you are thinking or want, layering in ideas to create spaces that are practical, inviting and look fabulous! Our villa is now modern yet timeless, and functional yet refined. Our home feels calm and considered to live in ...we LOVE it! Sam was also well regarded by the rest of our build team and a true asset to the project. We feel lucky to have been recommended Sam, she definitely stands out from the crowd in the best way!”
