Country Home.

The home is a new build family home. It is located in a leafy rural setting in North Canterbury. The style is reminiscent of a classic country home, with some contemporary and unique features. It has a ‘homely’ feel with the warmth of the natural timbers used throughout.

Tailormade Space Ltd was contracted to provide a concept for the interiors and worked with the clients through to completion of their new home, including colour and finish selections along with bespoke curtains throughout.

This home is a testament to the homeowners love of craftsmanship, beautiful timbers and the country lifestyle. Natural materials are present throughout. In particular, the clients have utilised wood, of various varieties. Timber feature walls and ceilings form a significant part of the home’s interior. There is a limestone block wall that leads into the home and wraps around one side of the open plan living space.

Designer Sarah Eaton was careful to utilise natural and muted colours vs. bold or stark colours. This was in order for them to sit easily alongside the other natural finishes and not compete. As a result the overall scheme is well connected and flows from one space to the next. The aim was to create a country home that has a natural, crafted and timeless feel. Some beautiful handmade tiles for the splashback were sourced to complement the tones used in the remainder of the interiors.
