Reconfiguring the CQ Hotel foyer and cafe for improved circulation and enhanced guest experience while preserving the character of the Cuba St facade.
The brief was to improve the circulation and presentation of the existing hotel foyer, cafe and Cuba St entrance.
We proposed to reconfigure the existing entrance and adjacent cafe by swapping one for the other, installing the cafe into the existing entrance lobby, and using the vacated space for the new entrance. By re-orientating the internal circulation route, pedestrians are more effectively directed to the hotel foyer/reception/bar, while maintaining the existing pedestrian link through to Dunlop Tce, and remaining sensitive to the character of the Cuba St facade.
